COMMUNITY UPDATE

Coronavirus Preparedness

We’re Prepared.  You know we take care and pride in keeping our facility and equipment extremely clean and organized. We are redoubling our efforts during this time period, and in fact had a professional cleaning crew in the gym for hours this past Sunday.

We’re also asking for your help in keeping Feast clear of this and other viruses:

  • FIRST AND FOREMOST: PLEASE STAY HOME IF YOU’RE FEELING EVEN SLIGHTLY SICK.  See how things develop, and keep us updated.

  • Please wash your hands before and after each workout. Feel free to use the alcohol hand sanitizer on the check in counter after your hand washing as well.

  • Please thoroughly wipe down the equipment with the disinfectant gym wipes before and after each use.

You’re Prepared.  Science says that the best way to ward off and limit the impact of any illness, including this one, is to:

  • be as fit as possible

  • get adequate sleep

  • eat plenty of illness-fighting micronutrients

  • keep stress low

Our programming is specifically designed to make you as fit as possible. Our Healthy Habits are specifically designed to help you adopt sound nutrition and sleep habits (including our just-completed Jan and Feb cycle of eating a diverse array of micronutrient-dense veggies).  And for many of us, coming to Feast is the ultimate stress reliever. So please have confidence that the work you’ve put in at Feast has made you as prepared as possible for this or any other potential illness.

Just reach out if you have questions or concerns.

Together, we can keep our community healthy, happy, and moving forward!

Party On, Chet!

We’re sending Chet off to Colorado in style with a “Chet-Con” workout at 8:00am and 9:00am on Saturday, March 21 at Feast, followed by fun, food, and drinks. BE THERE!

Polar Plunged!

On March 1st, 10 Feasters plunged into Lake Michigan with Boosh (and her work family) to support Special Olympics Chicago. This year the event raised over $2 million dollars and the corporate team we participated with raised over $200k in donations. Thank you everyone who supported this great cause by jumping in or by donating. While we can’t promise another 50 degree day next year, we can promise to make it as entertaining as this year! So Save the Date now for next year: Sunday, March 7, 2021.

Feast Healthy Habit Update

Our CHOWs to date have been nutrition focused, and the CHOW for this week was designed to encourage members to eat home cooked meals by making leftovers.

BUT, to encourage members to be extra diligent about gym hygiene, our CHOW for this week, and next, and probably the next week too is:

Rx:  Wipe down your equipment with a gym wipe before and after class, AND wash your hands before and after class.

Scaled: There is no scaled.  Just do it!

Recipe from Terri

Here’s an idea for a quick and easy dinner from our own coach and Beyond the Box partner, Terri Hartman (and Trader Joes):

Ingredients:

Trader Joe’s Miso Ginger Broth

Trader Joe’s Chicken Cilantro Mini Wontons

1 package of spinach

Instructions:

Heat broth and frozen wontons in a large pot.

Stir in spinach just before serving.

Super easy--enjoy!
